A brand-new event for professional singer-and-pianist duos based full-time in the UK, the Rebecca Clarke Song Competition spotlights British women composers of the last century, and their extraordinary contributions to the vocal literature. The sold-out final round, featuring 5 duos selected from 17 semifinalists and 135 entries, took place on January 24, 2026, in Princess Alexandra Hall, at the Royal Over-Seas League, London.
Prizes included £5000 each to the winning singer and pianist, £1000 each to the runners-up, and £1000 to the duo giving the best performance of a song by a living British composer. In addition, winners were offered performances at the London Song Festival, and in the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra’s chamber series.
The winners were:
- The Morison Prize for Singers: Jonathan Eyers, baritone
- Second Prize for Singers: Beth Moxon, mezzo-soprano
- The Winship Prize for Pianists: Alfred Fardell and Jasmin Allpress (tie)
- Second Prize for Pianists: Ella O’Neill
- Special Mentions to pianists Roelof Temmingh and Daniel Peter Silcock
- The Stanford Prize for the Best Performance of a Song by a Living Composer: Lucy Gibbs and Jack Redman, for their performance of ‘Rubbish at Adultery’ by Cheryl Frances-Hoad
- Special Mentions to Archie Inns and Alfred Fardell, for ‘Mabel Walsh’ by Cheryl Fances Hoad; Katy Thomson and Rustam Khanmurzin, for ‘Mother Love’ by Emily Hazrati; Miro Traherne and Curtis Vetter, for ‘Rain’ by Errollyn Wallen; and Gabriella Noble and Jasmin Allpress, for ‘Epilogue’ by Electra Perivolaris.
